The Artist

Sarah Gauthier is a native Vermont artist and art therapist. Her artistic practice explores themes of nature, movement , and emotional expression, often through layered abstractions influenced by the enviroments she has lived in or traveled to. Her technique and style are inspired by artists such as Monet and Georgia O'Keefe and aim to capture snapshots of nature through her unique lens. Sarah creates artwork using a variety of mediums and techniques including acrylic paint, string weaving, mosaic, photography, jewelry making, ceramics, and mixed media.
Sarah holds a B.A. in Psychology and Fine Arts and a Master's degree in Creative Arts Therapy, completed during eight formative years living and working in New York City. Cine returning to Vermont in 2016, she has worked with children in the mental health field while continuing her professional practice as an art therapist. As an artist, Sarah is deeply engaged in exploring what it means to live and create sustainably. Her work draws from both her internal and external worlds, reflecting personal experience while being nourished by community connection, personal reflection, and a commitment to holistic wellbeing. |
